WHY VISUAL RECIPES?

Visual recipes are a great way to cook with your students/children in an easy-to-approach way. Visual recipes make it easy for anyone to get involved with the cooking process which then leads to strong language, fine motor, sensory, articulation, and social skills. Visual recipes make it easy for the child to lead the experience while also getting the support needed from an adult. They are a great way to incorporate cooking into any speech session!

How I use them!

I love using visual recipes as often as I can at home & in my speech sessions to boost engagement and participation! Use the themed recipes paired with a book or toy to boost student buy-in while working on specific speech & language targets. You can also use these at home with your own children to support communication skills with the help of cooking!

WHY ADAPTED BOOK PIECES?

Picture books are a speech therapists most versatile tool. You can use them to target vocab, basic concepts, sequencing, articulation, and more. With the addition of adapted book pieces, you take that work to the next level by making the story interactive. Students can match the picture cards to the book or you can target WH questions as you read. Either way, the use of adapted book pieces is a great way to make your read aloud more impactful.
